At Eastside Prep, all students are encouraged to participate in the Fine and Performing Arts.
Through creative participation in the arts, students will develop the skills and the courage to become self-actualized: to be aware of, connected to, and able to attain their goals in an increasingly complex world. We introduce students to the disciplines within the arts, such as visual arts, music, theatre, and dance, and teach them the tools and concepts underlying each discipline. Above all, we aim for an appreciation of the fine and performing arts that will ultimately lead to an awareness of the role art plays in our lives and an understanding of their importance. In all cases, the way to truly know an art is by doing the art.
The following fine and performing arts activities are currently available at Eastside Prep:
- Two annual Mainstage Play Performances in our brand new Black Box Theater
- One annual All-School Musical
- Middle School Choir
- Upper School Choir
- Rock and Roll Club meets once a week
- Animation/Cartooning Workshop
- 5th Avenue Musical Theater Awards
- Improv Club
- Poetry Slam
Questions about our arts program can be directed to our Chair of the Fine and Performing Arts, Kevin McQuade, 425-822-5668 ext. 342.
